The IrriFlex® irrigation needle is used during the irrigation phase of root canal therapy:

Initial canal preparation: After shaping the root canal with hand files or rotary instruments, the canal is ready for irrigation to remove debris, the smear layer, and biofilm.

Insertion of IrriFlex® needle: The flexible polypropylene needle is inserted into the canal, easily adapting to its curvature without resistance or damage to the dentinal walls. The tapered shape ensures proper fit and access to the apical region.

Irrigant delivery: Irrigating solutions such as sodium hypochlorite or EDTA are introduced via the IrriFlex® needle. The two side vents deliver balanced, precise jets of irrigant aimed directly at the dentinal walls, ensuring thorough cleaning.

Debris and biofilm removal: The needle’s design maximizes shear forces and facilitates the effective elimination of debris, the smear layer, and biofilm while minimizing the risk of irrigant extrusion.

Coronal seal: The needle ensures steady fluid flow from the apical region to the coronal seal, leaving the canal clean and ready for obturation.
